An element that works through the pressure of gas or the force generated by expansion, that is, the energy of compressed air is converted into kinetic energy. Such as cylinder, steam engine, etc.

It is a form of power transmission and also an energy conversion device, which uses gas pressure to transmit energy.

1、 Advantages of pneumatic components:

1. The pneumatic device has simple structure, portability and simple installation and maintenance. The pressure level is low, so it is safe to use.

2. The working medium is inexhaustible air, and the air itself does not cost money. The exhaust treatment is simple, does not pollute the environment, and has low cost.

3. The adjustment of output force and working speed is very easy. The action speed of air cylinder is generally 50~500mm/s, which is faster than that of hydraulic and electrical modes.

4. High reliability and long service life. The effective action times of electrical components are about one million times, while the service life of general solenoid valves of SMC is more than 30 million times, and that of small valves is more than 200 million times.

5. The compressibility of air can be used to store energy and realize centralized gas supply. It can release energy for a short time to obtain high-speed response in intermittent movement. Buffer can be realized. Strong adaptability to impact load and overload. Under certain conditions, the pneumatic device can be self-holding.

6. The full pneumatic control has the ability of fire prevention, explosion prevention and moisture prevention. Compared with hydraulic mode, pneumatic mode can be used at high temperature.

7. Because of the small air flow loss, compressed air can be supplied in a centralized way and transported over a long distance.

2、 Disadvantages of pneumatic components:

1. Because the air is compressible, the action speed of the cylinder is easily changed by the change of load. This defect can be overcome by adopting pneumatic-hydraulic linkage.

2. When the cylinder is moving at low speed, the low speed stability of the cylinder is not as good as that of the hydraulic cylinder due to the large proportion of friction in the thrust.

3. Although the output force of cylinder can meet the working requirements in many applications, its output force is smaller than that of hydraulic cylinder.

Pneumatic technology is a professional technology that uses compressed air as the medium to drive and control machinery. Because of its advantages of energy saving, pollution-free, high efficiency, low cost, safety and reliability, and simple structure, it is widely used in various machinery and production lines. In the past, the pneumatic system and its components on production lines such as automobiles and tractors were designed, manufactured and maintained by each factory.
